The Magic Maker
Hi! My name is Abbey and I am the creator of Sweet Szeretet! As a mother of two sweet girls, I always strive to have beauty within their spaces, while giving them things they can love, use and get attached to. I grew up clutching a blanket made by my grandmother, with Christmas stockings stitched with my name, using velvets and threads to personalize my life.
When I first became pregnant I searched for a way to announce my baby’s gender while also displaying their name proudly with an item that wasn’t just stored away in a box when I left the hospital. With a pink blanket and a blue blanket made in the fabrics my grandmother taught me a dream started.
The name Sweet Szeretet stems from my Hungarian heritage- meaning Sweet Love. “Szeretet” means a love for things, friends, family. And that’s what we all are here, family.
Ultimately, I want Sweet Szeretet to be a place where you can create and find a unique baby item. My hope is for nurseries everywhere to have that show stopper piece that makes new mothers- and fathers! happy when they see it in anticipation of their little love and still makes them smile when their toddler brings it into their big kid bed.

Our Story
My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was a young girl. My feet could barely touch the pedal, but my mother hoped that the tradition of sewing and the happiness it brought others would be passed down. She taught me how to make family blankets that became sought after heirlooms. Years of making these blankets together and inheriting her sewing machine eventually let me to making gender reveal blankets for my own daughters. The beauty of these blankets and the ability to put little ones to sleep in comfort led to many requests for these blankets. When these pixie dust blankets grew beyond family and friends I wanted others to be able to wrap their new miracles in the magic of these muslin blankets while their hands rub unique to them velvet trim.
